Engineers at Transit Video Security Systems (TVSS) of Apalachin, NY, have designed and are marketing a state-of-the-art mobile video surveillance system called ClaimSafe II. The full-color, full-motion system, specifically designed for installation on public transit vehicles, provides added safety and security for the passengers and drivers and has helped protect transit companies against fraudulent and exaggerated claims.

One New Jersey transit company estimates it has saved nearly $1 million a year in claims paid, litigation costs, and insurance premiums as a result of having ClaimSafe systems on its buses.

The SBDC has helped the owners of the system update their business plan and develop marketing data, and is now assisting them in identifying sources of "angel" or venture capital funding.
